Algonquin Outfitters Summer Photo Contest
Location: Huntsville
Welcome to Algonquin Outfitters, Summer 2009 Photo Contest. This time around we are looking for Algonquin Park Landscapes. You can submit any photos take in Algonquin Park showing beautiful landscapes found there. Photos may contain people or animals but the main subject should be Landscapes. An extra 10 bonus points will be awarded for Panoramic photos. So start digging through your photos for great pictures of Algonquin Park. Canada Day Celebrations
Location: Magnetawan
The Canada Day Celebrations at Magnetawan's Centennial Park officially begin with opening ceremonies at 1 pm. Families can enjoy live entertainment and a barbecue. There will be Lakeland Power bucket rides, games, and a cardboard boat race. The grand finale of the celebrations will be a fireworks display at dusk, beside the Magnetawan locks.

Canada Day Fireworks & Duck Derby
Location: Bracebridge
Bracebridge Canada Day Fireworks are presented by the Rotary Club of Bracebridge. They will be over Bracebridge Bay. Gather on either side of the Muskoka River at Kelvin Grove Park (Ecclestone Dr.) at dusk. Donations will be accepted at the entrances to the parks. Please help support the Rotary Club. Canada Day Celebration Fireworks
Location: Huntsville
The Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department and KWH Pipe will be putting on a great fireworks display at Hunter's Bay, behind the Fire Hall. They will start at dusk.



HBC Run for Canada - CANCELLED
Location: Algonquin Park
Celebrate Canada in Algonquin Park with a 10 km run to support our Olympic athletes. There will also be a 3km family walk, and a 1km kids run. For more information visit: hbcrunforcanada.ca.

Kilworthy Park Activities
Location: Gravenhurst
Free Jam Sandwich concert at 1pm. Performances by the Country Cloggers, contests and games. Homemade baked goods, hotdogs, soft drinks and ice cream for sale.

14th Annual Coldwell Banker Thompson Real Estate Flag Placing
Time: 5:00am - 8:00am
Location: Huntsville
Team together and place 6,000 hand-held Canadian flags all over the Town of Huntsville

Service of Celebration & Communion
Time: 9:30am
Location: Huntsville
All Saints' Anglican Church, 30 High St., Huntsville, will be having a Service of Celebration & Communion. There will be family activities, face painting, and refreshments.

Canadian Day Quiz
Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Location: Port Carling
How well do your know your local Canadian history? Take the Canadian Day Quiz and receive a discount at the Gift Shop. To be held at the Muskoka Lakes Museum, in Port Carling on James Bartleman Island Park by the lock.

Celebrate Canada! Strawberry Social
Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm
Location: Huntsville
Come celebrate Canada Day at Muskoka Heritage Place, 88 Brunel Rd. There will be free admission to the Muskoka Museum only. Admission to the village is $10 for adults and $7 for children, and includes Strawberry Scones (while supplies last). There will be lots to do, and lots of celebration. Canada Day & Summer 'Blast Off'

Location: Port Sydney
The Canada Day & Summer 'Blast Off' will be held at the beach in Port Sydney. There will be fun for all ages - clowns, BBQ, Mad Scientist, Canada Day Parade, Sand Castle Building, competitions, wakeboarding and sailing demonstration, and more. This event is brought to you by the Port Sydney/Utterson & Area Chamber of Commerce.

Canada Day at the Royal Canadian Legion
Time: 11:00am - 9:00pm

The Royal Canadian Legion, 21 Veterans Way, Huntsville, will be having Canada Day celebrations. There will be a yard sale at 8 am, a tractor Pull at 1 pm, family activities, a BBQ lunch, and a roast beef dinner.

Robinson's Independent Grocer

Celebrate Canada Day at Robinson's Independent Grocer, 131 Howland Dr., Huntsville. There will be crafts, tattoos, and puzzles. At 2 pm, will be the annual Canada Day balloon release. The cost is $2 per child, with all proceeds going the President's Choice Children's Charity.

O Canada & Canada Day Cake/ River Mill Park-Grand Opening Celebration

Mayor Claude Doughty, Council, M.P. Parry Sound Muskoka Tony Clement, M.P.P. for Parry Sound Muskoka Norm Miller will sing and serve Canada Day Cake at River Mill Park. There will be a one hour concert by the Muskoka Concert Band, cupcakes, flags, and tattoos.

Kayak Wednesdays
Time: 6:00pm
Location: Huntsville
Want to try your hand at kayaking? Wednesdays are kayaking night, at Algonquin Outfitters, 86 Main St. E, Huntsville. For only $15, we provide all the gear for a fun or relaxing evening outing. Meet at the Huntsville store before 6 pm. for registration. We'll have you on the water before 7 p.m. and spend the next two hours showing you the sites on the Muskoka River. If the group is up for a little more challenge, we can paddle all the way to Lake Vernon and back. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Muskoka Cruise Night

The Historical Automotive Society of Canada - Muskoka Cruise Nights will be every Wednesday night from May 13 to Oct 28 at the Canadian Tire Parking Lot. There will be prizes and a 50/50 draw with proceeds going to local charities. For more information, call 705-636-0201.
